ERPNext Implementation Cost in India

By Girman Technologies Pvt Ltd, Bangalore — Certified Frappe & ERPNext Partner, 40+ clients and 60+ projects delivered. Last updated .

The ERPNext licence costs ₹ 0. What a project costs is implementation, hosting and support — and a typical Indian SMB implementation with Girman Technologies runs ₹ 2,00,000 – ₹ 15,00,000+, excluding GST. This page shows every line in that budget, what decides where you land in the band, and what recurs after year one.

What you actually pay for

An ERPNext budget has five lines, and the software is not one of them. Implementation dominates the first year; hosting and maintenance are what recur.

Never

ERPNext licence

₹ 0

ERPNext is open source under GPLv3. There is no per-user fee and no charge to unlock a module, so no quote should carry a licence line.

One time

Implementation

₹ 2,00,000 – ₹ 15,00,000+

Requirement study, configuration, data migration, user training and go-live support. The band is what Girman Technologies' Indian SMB projects typically run; it is wide because the work is scoped per project, not sold as a package.

Recurring

Hosting on Frappe Cloud

From ₹ 410 / month

Managed hosting with upgrades and backups, billed by Frappe rather than by Girman Technologies.

Recurring

Annual maintenance (AMC)

₹ 48,000 – ₹ 2,16,000 / year

Support hours, functional guidance and training, bug fixes for the customisations we built, and Frappe Cloud monitoring.

As needed

Custom apps and change requests

Quoted separately

New feature development, integrations and change requests sit outside both the implementation scope and the AMC, and are estimated on their own.

Where these figures come from: the implementation band is Girman Technologies' own, drawn from the ERPNext projects we have delivered for Indian SMBs. The hosting figures are Frappe's published prices, linked below. The AMC prices are the plans we publish on our ERPNext partner page. Every figure excludes GST, and the number for your business comes from a scoped estimate rather than from a range.

What ERPNext hosting costs

ERPNext has to run somewhere, and that is the one recurring cost nobody can scope away. Frappe Cloud is the official managed option and publishes its own prices in rupees.

Shared site
From ₹ 410 / monthOne site on shared servers, with managed upgrades and backups.
Server
From ₹ 1,800 / monthA virtual machine running multiple sites and benches.
Dedicated server
From ₹ 5,400 / monthDedicated isolation, server snapshots, autoscaling and global data-centre locations.

Hosting is billed by Frappe, not by Girman Technologies. Prices above are Frappe's own published figures from frappe.io/erpnext/pricing, read in October 2026, and are Frappe's to change. Self-hosting on your own infrastructure removes the subscription and adds the cost of somebody to run the server.

What moves the number

User count is the figure buyers ask about and the one that matters least: ERPNext has no per-user licence. Configuration effort tracks how the work is done, not how many people do it.

Pushes the cost up

  • Modules that encode company-specific rules, manufacturing and payroll above all

  • Master data held in several conflicting versions across departments

  • Each integration to a payment gateway, e-invoicing provider, marketplace or logistics partner

  • Multi-company, multi-currency or group consolidation requirements

  • Custom apps that replace standard ERPNext behaviour rather than extend it

  • Process decisions left unresolved once the build has started

Pulls the cost down

  • Accepting standard ERPNext workflows where they already fit

  • One clean item master and one agreed set of opening balances

  • Phasing modules instead of going live on everything at once

  • A named internal owner who can settle process arguments

  • Reports scoped after go-live from real usage rather than from a wishlist

  • Starting on managed hosting and revisiting it with a year of usage data

Year one against the years after

The two numbers behave differently, and a budget built on the first alone is the one that surprises people in month thirteen.

Year one

Implementation plus hosting plus, if you take one, an annual maintenance plan. Implementation is the dominant line and it is spent once: ₹ 2,00,000 – ₹ 15,00,000+ for a typical Indian SMB project, excluding GST.

Year two onward

Hosting from ₹ 410 a month and the AMC plan you choose, from ₹ 48,000 a year. No licence renewal, no per-user increase, and no module unlock fee — which is where open-source ERP separates from licensed ERP on a five-year view.

Girman Technologies AMC plans

Essential Care
₹ 48,000 per year, excluding GST. 2 hours of support a month, up to 5 tickets a month.
Business Care
₹ 1,14,000 per year, excluding GST. 5 hours of support a month, up to 10 tickets a month.
Enterprise Care
₹ 2,16,000 per year, excluding GST. 10 hours of support a month, up to 20 tickets a month.
What each AMC plan covers, and what it does not

How Girman Technologies arrives at your number

A range is useful for budgeting and useless for deciding. Four steps turn one into the other, and the first costs nothing.

  1. Step 1

    A free 30-minute consultation

A call with a co-founder to hear what you run today and what is breaking, at no cost and with no commitment.

  2. Step 2

A study of how your team actually works

We research your workflows department by department, including the spreadsheets, rather than working from a module checklist.

  3. Step 3

    A standard-first scope

Every requirement is tested against standard ERPNext behaviour before anything custom is proposed, because custom code is retested at every version upgrade.

  4. Step 4

A written estimate, phase by phase

You get the figure for each phase rather than one number, so the biggest line is visible before you commit to it.

Frequently Asked Questions

ERPNext itself is free, so the cost is the project rather than the software. Girman Technologies' Indian SMB implementations typically run ₹ 2,00,000 – ₹ 15,00,000+, excluding GST, covering requirement study, configuration, data migration, user training and go-live support. Where a project lands in that band is decided by how many modules you run, how clean your master data is and how many systems ERPNext has to talk to.

ERPNext is open source under the GPLv3 licence and the licence cost is zero. There is no per-user fee and no charge to unlock a module, so no ERPNext quote should carry a licence line. What a budget does carry is implementation, hosting, and support.

Frappe Cloud, the official managed hosting for ERPNext, publishes prices in rupees: from ₹ 410 a month for a shared site, from ₹ 1,800 a month for a server, and from ₹ 5,400 a month for a dedicated server. Hosting is billed by Frappe rather than by Girman Technologies. Self-hosting removes the subscription and adds the cost of somebody to administer the server.

Girman Technologies publishes three annual maintenance plans: Essential Care at ₹ 48,000 a year for 2 hours of support a month, Business Care at ₹ 1,14,000 a year for 5 hours of support a month, Enterprise Care at ₹ 2,16,000 a year for 10 hours of support a month. All three exclude GST, run for 12 months and carry the same scope, differing only in the hours and tickets they include.

No. ERPNext has no per-user licence fee, so adding users does not change the licence cost, which is zero either way. A larger team can mean a larger hosting plan and more support hours, but those are hosting and support costs rather than licence costs.

The work around the configuration: cleaning up master data as distinct from migrating it, the productivity dip in the first weeks after go-live, reports that only surface once people start working, and later phases of the rollout. New feature development, integrations and change requests also sit outside an annual maintenance plan and are quoted separately.

Typically 4 to 12 weeks. A small business on standard processes can go live in 4 to 6 weeks; a larger business with multiple locations, complex workflows and data migration runs 8 to 12 weeks or longer. Timelines move with data readiness and decision speed far more than with module count.
